WAKITA Kazu
Birds in the garden

A bird descends from the sky into the garden in the upper right corner of the vertical screen. Next to it are drooping branches and leaves, and underneath are what appear to be flowers with leaves. The surroundings of each motif are painted in muted warm colors, creating a mysterious relationship in which the motifs appear independent yet also blend and connect. The flowerbed-like, pale white mass in the lower left features pink and green flowers that rhythmically disappear into the distance. Is Kazu Wakita a poet-like painter who extracts the harmony and rhythm of nature and rearranges it into his works?
