宇和川通喩 UWAGAWA Michisato

Michisato Uwagawa first studied Japanese painting under Kaiko Matsumoto, and later turned to Western-style painting. In this work, colors are carefully layered little by little, like pointillism, and delicately applied to the surface. This may reflect the expression of light cultivated during his time in Europe. The scene is enveloped in a refreshing atmosphere, and at the center, a woman walking along a straight path is depicted. The lyrical composition that makes one imagine where she is headed is striking
