三宅克己 MIYAKE Kokki
Moret-sur-Loing, Paris Suburbs

It has been revealed that this work is one of the three pieces submitted to the 39th Kōfūkai Exhibition in 1953, as indicated on the label on the back. The pencil sketch has been colored using pointillism, with the variations in color intensity distinguishing the foreground from the distant scenery. The haziness of the distant landscape gives the impression of the humidity typical of a riverside. The artist himself traveled to Europe six times, but it is unclear during which period this was painted.
