Francisco José de Goya y Lucientes
The Disasters of War 56, To the cemetery.

Among the classical subjects, there are those based on the Bible, and this work is thought to have been inspired by "The Burial of Christ."There are many paintings on this subject, but it is particularly clear when comparing this work with "The Entombment of Christ" by Caravaggio, a master of the Italian Baroque period.A short distance away, there is a parent and child, and a person wearing a robe pulled down over his head, while the desolate scene on the road and the lyrics announcing the fate of those who have died highlight the misery of war.
