The Meaning of the Waka by Yoshiie Minamoto

KOBORI Tomoto

"I think of the wind blowing as the barrier of Nakoso, but the mountain cherry blossoms are falling as I walk along the road."<Meaning of the poem> This is the Nakoso Pass (Do not come), so as the name suggests, do not come, wind.Don't blow away the beautiful cherry blossoms and leave them blooming like this.Still, the wind is blowing, and so many mountain cherry blossoms are scattered that they are blocking the road.In the background right of the screen you can see Nakoso Barrier and cherry blossoms in full bloom beyond it.At that time, Nakoso Barrier was a barrier to prevent invasions by the Emishi (powerful clans).
