KŌCHŌRŌ Housai

Kabuki performance 'Onna Shibaraku'

KŌCHŌRŌ Housai

Kouchourou Hosai refers to Utagawa Kunisada III.
Ichimura-za was a kabuki theater formerly located in Edo (present-day Tokyo).
This work is likely a poster for Onna Shibaraku (Onna Shibaraku), which was performed at Ichimura-za in November. Onna Shibaraku is a play in which aragoto (aragoto) role is played by a female actor. The story is about
Kiyohara Takehira, a villain who plots to seize the throne, and who tries to capture and execute good people who stand in the way of his plan.To save good people who were in a difficult situation, Kamakura Gongoro Kagesada appeared with the single phrase "for a while" and saved them.
Onna Shibaraku is a story in which Tomoe Gozen, a famous female samurai, appears in place of the hero Kamakura Gongoro Kagesada, dressed in the same attire as Kamakura Gongoro Kagesada, and saves the people.
