画面いっぱいに母子が描かれている作品であるが、なぜ作者は逆光の設定を選んだのか、スカートの緑の安定感のある色に対して、子どもの服や母親の一部に使われている朱色はどういった意味を込めたのか、手や目の表情を省略したのか、そして人物の表面に斑のある光沢が必要だったのか、いろいろと考えさせられる点が多い。例えば、朱色は生命の躍動感や母子の愛情などを象徴させたのかもしれないし、それ以外の感覚も働いているのかもしれない、といった具合に深みのある作品には考えさせられる点が多く詰まっている。

This work depicts a mother and child filling the entire canvas, and there are many points that make one think: why did the artist choose a backlit setting? What meaning did he convey by using the vermilion color of the child's clothing and part of the mother's body in contrast to the stable green color of the skirt? Why did he omit the expressions on the hands and eyes? And why was a mottled sheen necessary for the figures' surfaces?For example, the vermilion color may symbolize the vitality of life or the love between mother and child, or perhaps other senses are at work as well; these profound works are filled with many thought-provoking points.
